Calm Spaces Terms and Conditions 

 

Decluttering and Professional Organising Service

 

  • At Calm Spaces we believe in, and practice a client lead approach. This means working at your pace and in a style that you are comfortable with.

  • We value our client relationships and provide a supportive, non judgemental working environment.

  • We will review how we are working together regularly and make any changes necessary.

  • We always aim to help you achieve your goals within the time frame set, but ultimately you set the pace and accept responsibility for what we achieve within the time frame.

  • We will support you in making decisions about whether to keep or let go of your possessions and the best way for you to do that.

  • All decisions are yours.

  • We will listen to how you would like your home to function for you and help you to achieve this.

  • We can work with you to decided the best storage solutions for you home.

  • We cannot organise other members of your household’s belongings without them being present and giving their consent.

  • We cannot work in spaces that do not belong to you.

  • We cannot remove items from your home for recycling, donations or waste. We can help you to find options for this.

  • We cannot value or sell your items for you. We can assist you with setting up accounts on selling sites such as Ebay and Vinted.

  • We will treat your home with the upmost care and respect and will never remove or take items from your home.

 

Confidentiality

 

  • All client information and personal data is treated as strictly confidential and will not be shared. 

  • Notes taken during our time together are solely for my reference and efficiency. 

  • I may refer to examples of my work, where it is helpful in sessions with clients. I am mindful to preserve privacy and only give relevant, anonymous details.

  • Our time together and anything discussed during this time will be treated as strictly confidential. 

 

Booking and Payment

 

  • A 50% deposit is required when booking to confirm your session.

  • Payment of the outstanding balance is required before you session. 

  • Payment instructions will be provided on your invoice. 

  • A lunch break will be taken during sessions of four or more hours. This time will be decided in advance and you will not be billed for this. All other face-to-face time I spend with you (including breaks) is billed.

 

Cancellations and Rescheduling 

 

  • We understand that things happen and sometimes cancelling or rescheduling is unavoidable. 

  • If you need to cancel less than five working days in advance your deposit will not be refunded.

  • In that case of Calm Spaces needing to cancel or reschedule a session, we will offer an alternative session.

 

Travel and Expenses 

 

  • Travel costs within a 40 mile radius of MK45 are included.

  • Travel costs outside a radius of 40 miles of MK45 will be discussed and agreed in advance.

  • Additional expenses such as parking fees and congestion charge will be discussed and agreed in advance.

 

Client Responsibilities

 

  • Please ensure that all areas we will be working in are safe and free from hazards.

  • Pets must be kept securely our of working ares for the duration of our sessions.

  • Expensive or fragile items must be secured outside the working area, as Calm Spaces cannot accept liability for accidental damage or lost or misplaced items. 

  • A smoke free working environment is required. 

 

Safety

 

  • The clients full name, address and contact details will be shared with a nominated safety contact before every in person session. These details will be used solely for safe practice reasons and will not be used or shared for any other reason.

  • I will require an emergency contact for you. This will only be used or shared in case of an emergency during our session.

  • Calm Spaces reserves the right to end any session if the organiser feels unsafe or for any breach of the terms or conditions. No refund will be given.

 

Data Protection

 

  • Personal data is collected and held in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Your personal data is used solely to provide our services and will never be sold. 

  • Your personal data will never be shared outside of the circumstances outlined in these terms and conditions.

  • You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data at any time.

 

Liability

 

  • Calm Spaces holds Public Liability Insurance and takes all reasonable care in your home. A copy of this certificate is available on request.

 

Client Acknowledgement 

 

These term and conditions form a legally binding contract between Calm Spaces (the business) and the client (you). Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
